| The Montezuma Fire Protection District is a full service organization providing fire response, limited hazardous materials response, full vehicle extrication, and 24-hour basic life support services. The District performs fire code plan checks, inspection, and enforcement; participates in educational activities to increase community awareness of fire safety and prevention; and conducts fire investigations within its jurisdiction. The Department services the town of Birds Landing, Collinsville, Hastings Island, Prospect Island, Ryer Island and Holland Tract. The Montezuma Fire Protection District most current ISO Ratings are: Outside of 5 miles of the City Limits - Class 9 Within 5 miles of City Limits - Class 8B Ryer Island Fire District - Class 9 |
| Montezuma Fire District covers approximately 230 square mile of mostly farmland and pastures lands. Montezuma is a combination department with a paid Fire Chief, 1 paid Assistant Chief , 1 Volunteer Assistant Chief, 4 Volunteer Captains, 1 Paid Lieutenant, 7 Volunteer Engineers and 20 Volunteer Firefighters. (See Personnel) January 1, 2004 Montezuma merged with Ryer Island Fire Protection District which covers approximately 30 square miles. Montezuma runs out of seven stations in which five are in Montezuma Fire District and two on Ryer Island. (See Map) |

| Montezuma Fire District has added a new Water Tender to our fleet replacing our 1976 Kenworth. Pierce Manufacturing in Appleton Wisconsin is building a new Pumper/Tender for us. Crews fly out on January 15, 2008 to do the final inspection on it. This custom Pumper/ Tender is being built on a T800 Kenworth, has a 1000 GPM pump and roll Waterous Pump, 3000 gallons of water, 40 gallons of Class A foam. Will carry a 3000 gallon porta-tank and portable pump. Has front spray-bars for mobile attack if needed. Also will equiped with a remote Masterstream |
| Montezuma Fire District purchased a new type 1 Engine from Rosenbauer. Its on a Sparten Chassic with a 1500 GPM Waterous Pump, holds 750 gallons of water, 20 gallons of Class A foam. This comes with a bunch of goodies. It will be a great addition to this department. |
| Montezuma Fire District purchased a new Type 3 Brush Rig. This unit is on a Ford F550 crew cab. The build up was done by Cascade Fire in Medford Oregon. Units hold 400 gallons of water and 15 gallons of Class A foam. This is our new unit that we will send out throughout the state on Strike Team Calls. |
| October 30, Montezuma will be hosting its Annual Steak and Prawn Dinner with all proceeds going to the Montezuma Volunteer Firefighters Associations. Tickets are $35.00 each and you may get them at Station 51 or from any Montezuma personnel. ( SEE FLYER ) |
